Case study: Prisoner Handling on Operations
This drama-based film was commissioned as part of the wider and continuous review of Army Training that results from lessons being identified from operations, and is designed to provide soldiers with a clear knowledge and understanding of their moral, legal and operational responsibilities when handling prisoners. Shot on location in Cyprus, and compulsory viewing for all ranks up to and including junior officers - including Regular Army, TA, and Reservists – this film is used within standard classroom training as part of each soldier’s annual training requirement, as well as prescribed viewing in preparation for operational deployment.
Against a context of high profile prisoner abuse trials, feedback has been hugely positive with Officers reporting that their soldiers find it holds their interest throughout, is delivered in a very engaging way, and the key learning points are delivered at the right level and effectively.
