Flybe launch an eco label

Twofour has been working closely with Flybe to help it launch a ground breaking, world first - an Eco Label for aircraft. Flybe, Europe's largest regional airline is helping passengers make informed decisions by leading the way in eco friendly travel. Based in Exeter in the South West of England, it's so serious about the environment it has invested $2billion dollars in aircraft. As a result of this investment it is now operating one of the world's youngest and most environmentally friendly fleets; and by 2009 Flybe's entire fleet will be pumping out less CO2, be more fuel efficient and be quieter.

Much in the same style as white goods this eco label will be available for the consumer to see at the online booking process, the check in desk and even on the side of the aircraft. It tells you the effect the aircraft used on your chosen route has on the local environment, its journey environment and the passenger environment. This enables consumers, at any point, to see the effect their journey will have locally and globally, and help us all to be more aware of the carbon footprint we leave behind us. Flybe are calling for other airlines to follow suit and adopt this process across the board. Twofour has created two programmes to coincide with the launch, a "teaser" to kick off the launch at the Natural History Museum and a three minute piece on "what this means to the consumer".
