Following the success of Twofour's DVD on Type 2 diabetes the charity has commissioned a second film to support young people who have just been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. The DVD will feature five families with children aged between 9-17 who are at different stages of living with the condition. Through a mixture of revealing personal stories and practical medical advice the DVD aims to reassure young people and their families at the most daunting time in their journey with diabetes - from the impact of diagnosis through to hospital appointments, injections, managing school and all the potential worries associated with the transition to adolescence. Young professionals who are living successfully with Type 1 also share their experiences and give reassurance that Type 1 diabetes does not need to stop you from doing anything – least of all leading a healthy and fulfilling life.

Diabetes UK plans to distribute the DVD to every new person diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
