Twofour working with CfBT Education Trust to support the new Secondary Curriculum

Twofour is working on a major new commission to create an interactive website to provide subject leaders in secondary schools with support in designing and implementing the new secondary curriculum. Twofour is working with leading educational charity CfBT Education Trust which, in partnership with 10 Subject Associations, has been awarded the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) contract to provide specific support for schools in their teaching of all the foundation subjects. The commission is an important addition to Twofour's wide ranging work in education and the development of interactive learning resources on the internet.

The subject specific support for the implementation of the forthcoming new secondary curriculum to all maintained schools in England will cover PSHE, citizenship, history, geography, design and technology, languages, art and design, PE, RE and music. This support will include web-based materials such as curriculum writing guides, a toolkit of resources for teachers and case studies of best practice. There will also be information sharing events in the nine local government regions. Twofour will be capturing and delivering these briefing events to a wider audience.

The CfBT contract follows the review of the secondary curriculum undertaken by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), resulting in schools being given more freedom and flexibility in what and how they teach. Twofour is also working closely with the QCA in the provision on online case studies to promote innovation in teaching and learning.
