Twofour – Vodcasting for Bond Pearce

Twofour has produced Bond Pearce’s first vodcast (a video podcast), which it published on its website in April 2008.

This new communication initiative uses technology to widen the channels by which clients can access Bond Pearce’s knowhow. In this vodcast the subject is the new Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007. While Bond Pearce has held a number of seminars on the legislation, which came into force in early April, not all clients have been able to attend. The vodcast also provides a different perspective – Bond Pearce newsletters tend to contain analysis of new legislation by professional support lawyers, whereas the vodcast is an interview with leading health and safety partner Jon Cooper, who discusses the implications of the legislation for businesses. It can be viewed at http://www.bondpearce.com/Audio-extras.

Twofour Producer/Director Vince Beeton said the vodcast was a new step for law firms. “While we have produced vodcasts for a range of major corporates, this is the first time we have seen a law firm take the plunge,” he said. “The technology provides a new accessible medium for delivering content to clients, enabling Bond Pearce to connect with their target audience in an engaging format well suited to the delivery of focused commercial advice.”

It is the first in a planned series of vodcasts designed to complement the written ‘hot topics’ – timely news updates – currently distributed by email. These will also be structured interviews, and may be developed into video broadcasts of seminars as well.

To date, several hundred people have viewed the vodcast. With clients and other interested users gaining confidence with web-delivered media, Bond Pearce expects vodcasts to increase in popularity over the next 12 months.
