Trainer Biographies

Christopher Slade heads-up Twofour's Media Consulting arm. For 25 years he worked in BBC Local Radio, the presentation and current affairs departments at BBC Radio 4 and then in BBC Television. He has reported for network TV, and presented the award-winning regional news programme for BBC South West for five years. He also heads-up Twofour's Live Events work, focusing on delivering clear memorable content.

Trevor Barnes is an award-winning journalist and reporter for BBC Radio 4. He reports for Radio 4's Sunday programme and for BBC World Service. In a career spanning twenty years he has worked in BBC and commercial radio and BBC television. For many years he was a current affairs reporter on Radio 4's You and Yours, The World at One, PM , and The World Tonight. He is also a freelance feature writer for The Times, The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Express, The Independent, The Evening Standard and The Mail.

Caroline Thomsett is a network journalist with more than ten years broadcasting experience with the BBC. She has done extensive work in both TV and Radio, for BBC Breakfast, World and News 24 as a reporter and producer.

George Matheson is a highly experienced journalist and reporter. He spent five years as a radio reporter and television editor for IRN/ITN, two years as an editor for Reuters Radio News, three years editing for BBC News 24 and a further four years editing for ITN. He currently works as a freelance reporter for BBC Radio 4 and as a reporter/producer for BBC South West.

Hugo Brooke has been training clients in interview and presentation skills for over twenty years. Working with a wide range of organisations from the UK and Europe, he has taught interview techniques, media handling methods, public speaking and presentation skills. His clients include public and private sector organisations and charities.

Barrie Penrose Barrie began his career writing for the New York Herald Tribune in its Paris office. He then moved to the Observer newspaper in London, before moving to BBC Television where he was a reporter on the 24 Hours programme, Midweek and the Nine O'Clock News. He later joined The Sunday Times where, amongst other jobs, he was co-editor of The Insight Column. He has written several books, and was behind a recent BBC TWO documentary on the subject of the MI5 and a possible conspiracy against Harold Wilson.

Jayne Constantinis has an unusual breadth and variety of communications and broadcast expertise. She is journalist-trained; she has fronted corporate and broadcast programmes for many big organisations; she has worked in PR and she has a wealth of interviewing and writing experience. She regularly writes for BBC radio and television.

Dale Webb worked for ITV in the South West for five years as a senior news reporter and presenter, before taking up the post of Deputy Features Editor. His coverage of the closure of South Crofty tin mine in Cornwall won him a Royal Television Society Award. Previously Dale worked for the World Entertainment News Network in London, and as a news presenter at Pirate FM, where he was nominated for a Sony Broadcasting Award.

Hannah Frankel is an NUJ-trained freelance journalist who works for a number of national and educational print media including the Times Educational Supplement and The Guardian. She is also a fully qualified English teacher.
